Help Me Win 1000 Dollars

Hey everyone, I've done my best to help you win the Grand Prize, please help me win $1000. Please vote 10 for Rex at http://www.1800petmeds.com/petcontest/vote/6006037436590614018 It will only take a moment to click on the link and vote for my dog rex, but if I win the contest it would be a huge a huge help for me. The contest winners are by the number of votes first and rating second. So while rex has a very high rating, he doesn't have enough votes yet (shy by about 6,000). Thanks to all of you who have already supported this blog by voting for Rex. Together you can make this happen for me, and for that I am grateful.

I've update the final challenge screen captures below and added descriptions to help clear up how to make it through all five final challenge puzzles quickly. For other images see http://www.imgplace.net/codefinal/ Hope this helps somebody win the Google Da Vinci Code Quest Challenge. Good Luck and Click Fast!

Can people get in trouble for posting cheats? I was reading the rules and noticed the following...

Near the end of Section 7 of the US Rules "...Any person attempting to defraud Sponsor or tamper with Contest in any way will be prosecuted to the full extent permitted by law and will not be eligible for a prize."

I don't want to be a worrier but I would hate to see anyone get in trouble.

Please help: I'm technologically challenged.

I'm a finalist and I finished the final puzzles. They never asked me to login or provide any identifying info. I've been using different computers throughout the quest, so I don't think they're tracking my IP address or anything. How do they know it's me?

Or did they not take my name because my time wasn't anywhere close to winning?

Thanks for all of the great work! I finished in just under 20mins, I wasn't going for the grand prize. I just wanted to have fun. I voted for your dog a dozen times. I'm at university and I've been going around to different computers in the labs voting! Thanks again!

technophobe37L: Do you have a google personalized homepage?

If so, you are probably signed in to google right now (check).

So, google remembers you. You don't have to re-sign in because you are already signed in.

The rules/regulations are unclear, aren't they? But I don't think GF or anyone here can get in trouble. In the forum, someone was talking about decompiling the SWF. That, I also don't think goes against the rules; however, using the decompiled SWF to then send the answers/data back to the Google server(s) in record time could be grounds for disqualification (or worse). I would argue that it's the same logic as owning P2P software. Owning P2P software is not illegal, but using it to DL copyrighted material is.

technophobe37 -- Did you read bxcellent's comments in "The Beginning of the End" post? Also, more to consider... Do you have your browsers set to automatically recall your Google user and password? Think back to when you first logged in to Google after creating an account and if your browser asked you, "Do you want (Firefox) to remember this password?" Is it at all possible that someone else at work or home (or wherever else you used computers) was playing the quest and was also a finalist and neglected to log out? Don't mean to freak you out, but it could be possible that you were playing under someone else's user name and vice versa. FYI what I did was I went to my "You're a Finalist" email and clicked the link it gave me. I was told to log in before I got the Instructions/Play the Game page. Hopefully all the finalists will get a confirmation email in the next few days.

"Or did they not take my name because my time wasn't anywhere close to winning?"
I don't find that possible. How could Google/Sony have possibly predicted your time BEFORE you even started playing? Big Brother may be watching, but I don't think BB has a time machine to peek into the future... yet.

MR, thank you for your comment on my blog - I replied with a comment there in appreciation of what you said.

I'd like to invite others to visit my blog and comment on the Da Vinci controversy as well.

There is NO agenda, and it is NOT a commercial site. Merely a place for offering different viewpoints on a subject that seems to interest us all.

Wow!! I didn't realize how disturbed some people are. If you don't want to vote for Rex, then don't. If you want to help me out by spreading the link on myspace that would be awesome!! But please keep your profanity and insults to yourself.

Someone got mad 'cause you asked them to vote for your dog? That's just about the dumbest thing I ever heard. I'm emailing my contact list to vote for your dog, maybe it will spread around the net like some horrible cookie recipe. Good luck!

Apparently, 1 in 100,000 people are mentally disturbed and have nothing better to do then create more garbage on the Internet.
